About Rebecca Madonna
With clay-dusted hands and a reverence for form, I create functional pottery that brings beauty to life's simple moments. My journey with ceramics began as a quiet curiosity and blossomed into a calling that fills my days with purpose and creativity. In my sun-filled studio in [location], I shape each vessel with intention, allowing the natural properties of clay to guide my hands while infusing every piece with my artistic vision. My work celebrates the beauty of functionality - mugs that fit perfectly in your palms, bowls that cradle your morning granola, vases that honor both flowers and negative space. I believe that handmade ceramics have the power to transform everyday rituals into moments of mindfulness and joy.

Design
Every piece begins as a conversation between my imagination and experience. I sketch ideas in my worn leather notebook, inspired by organic forms, architectural elements, and the way light plays across surfaces. These initial drawings evolve as I consider how each piece will be held, used, and loved in someone's home.
Creation
Working at my wheel, I center both the clay and my intention. Each piece is thrown with careful attention to form and function - the gentle curve of a mug handle, the perfect lip of a pouring vessel, the balanced weight of a bowl. I often lose track of time in these moments, completely absorbed in the meditation of making.
Finishing
The final stages of creation are where each piece develops its unique character. I trim and refine forms with precision tools, add subtle texture work, and carefully attach handles and other elements. After the first firing, I glaze each piece in my signature palette of earthy tones and subtle variations, often leaving portions of raw clay exposed to celebrate the natural beauty of the material. A final firing brings out the depth and complexity of the glazes, revealing the subtle interplay of surface and form.
